Review: Crafts Beautiful

Soooo, hello.  How are you all?

Today I bring you a review of the latest issue of Crafts Beautiful.  Can you believe it is a year since I bought my first issue of CB, which kick-started my crafting obsession, and it is still going strong.  This magazine still doesn't disappoint - there are amazing projects and great freebies.

So, without further ado, lets got on with the review . . .

This month's issue comes with a free stamp set, with stamps for all occasions, and as usual, the first project in the magazine is how to out these to good effect.  I especially like the wooden hearts stamps with love motifs.  There are also cards, pin cushions and tags.

I also like the cut out and keep cards.  These all use paint chart cards.  I can't choose a favourite because I like them all and I might have to steal this idea.  Best get myself down to Homebase and get some paint charts.  You never know, they might inspire me as to which colour to paint my bedroom, because at the moment I just can't decide, but that brown wall that has been there since we moved in is driving me insane now.

Anyway, as usual, I am going off on a tangent again.  Sorry.

There are some cute quilled cards by Niki Rowland for Mother's Day.  These actually don't look too difficult, and I still have some quilling strips, so I might, one day, have a go at one of these.

I also really like Karen Baker's bright paper bouquet in Brighten Up.  I just love the brightness of these - they certainly brighten up an otherwise very drab time of it in the UK.

There is also a feature on stamping, including some gorgeous cards and hints and tips on stamping.  There are also little interviews with and features on stampers.

Other projects include:
  • origami-folded cards
  • Joanna Sheen decoupage card
  • cute woodland-themed cards, some with free downloadable images
  • quilled flowers and butterflies on hanging decorations and cards
