Sooooo, I do have an excuse for the last of posts the last week or so - it has been a truly horrible week, which started with the migraine from hell last weekend, followed by a devastating fire at my mum's flat on Monday. So between working my usual all hours and helping out my mum (I did manage to finally get myself out of bed on Monday), I haven't had any time at all to craft until today, and although I had some projects ready to blog about, blogging has been the last thing on my mind.
Anyway, although things aren't sorted, and my mum won't be back in her flat for a while yet, we can't really do anything else for the time being, so today I finally managed to sit down and do some crafting.
I have made the nieces' Easter pyjamas, which I will blog about soon, but first up I would like to share with you a card I have made for my friend, Mandy, who became an Auntie last weekend - her brother and his wife had a baby girl, Amelia Grace, last Sunday.
As usual, Mandy had specific requests, and this time it was a pink bunny (as it is also Easter), so I took the opportunity to order myself a new LOTV stamp, which I have had my eye on for a while.
I stamped this using black versamark ink, and I did colour one up with the bunny pink, but I decided that I didn't really like it, so I coloured another keeping the bunny white, and colouring the background pink. Much better I thought. I used distress inks for my colouring.
I then stamped 'Amelia Grace' around the edge of the image, using my new small alphabet stamps from Hobbycraft - a bargain at £1.50 - and wrote the date of birth with a black fineliner pen.
I then die-cut the image using a circle die and layered this onto a heart doily.
For the rest of my card I followed the sketch over at Sketch n Stash.
The papers are all from the LOTV Bear Necessities pad, layered onto some ivory pearlescent card. I also added faux stitching with a brown fineliner pen to each layer to match the main paper.
I added some pink 'it's a girl' ribbon to the small strip of paper along the bottom and layered a 'new baby' sentiment embellishment onto some craft gauze. I added a little lace knot to the centre of this, together with a little baby feet charm, all from my stash. Finally, in line with the stash, I added to pink pearls to the top corners.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
