Krafty Christmas

Sooo, a while ago I had a bit of a Christmas cardmaking sesh (I made about 40, and I really do need to make time for another session), and these cards are some of the cards I made:

I decided that instead of spending a fortune buying new bits and bobs this year, I would try to use up some of my stash and save some money, so for these cards I decided to use of some of the smaller LOTV mini masterpieces.

I chose all cute animals and those that had more brown on them so they would go with the papers I had decided to use from the LOTV krafty christmas pad.

I added faux stitching with a brown fineliner around the edge of each image, which I then layered onto some red card.  I also added faux stitching around the papers (I chose a different paper to accompany each image, and I tried to get them to match as much as possible with something that was going on in the image), which I cut to the length of my 6x4 card blanks.

I then stamped 'merry christmas' from my new(ish) LOTV sentiments stamp with brown memento ink onto all the cards.

To finish, I then added a brown cross in each corner, two in the top right corner, to tie in the stitching theme I had going on.

I think I put these in my Etsy shop.  There is only one set, as I used up the last of these mini masterpieces and they aren't available anymore.  I am tempted to keep them for myself though, so get them before I do make that decision.

Relaxing In The Garden

Sooo, today is my step-dad's birthday (Happy Birthday!) and I would like to share with you the card I made for him:

This was a quick card as I haven't had much time for creating cards recently - far to busy sewing.  I am onto the last Elsa dress now, and hopefully I will get that finished this week.  I then have a dress currently half made and pinned onto Doris to finish, my Christmas party dress to make, along with a few stitched Christmas presents.  Fingers crossed I can get everything done before xmas, but with work, studying, not being able to get into the craft room for various reasons, I'm starting to panic a little, and I still have my Christmas cards to make.

Anyway, enough of me rabbitting on.  As this was a quick card, I used a topper from the LOTV vintage boys art pad (which I am nearly all out of, so have to get some more).  I edged this with some brown ink, layered onto some striped paper, then some red paper, then some brown striped paper.  All the papers are from LOTV paper pads, but I don't think any of them are from  the same - I decided to use up some scraps.

Before layering the panel onto the brown paper, I wrapped it with some brown baker's twine, which I got from the Ribbon Girl.

To finish the card, I stamped 'happy birthday' with brown ink, inked the edge of the the panel and attached this to the card with a red button to finish it off.
